The goal of the CDM is to make discipleship training a key aspect of the culture of the church in Africa. This is because over the years, Africa has had a large number of Christian converts who never grow on to maturity for lack of laborers to disciple them within the church. Central to the training of laborers has been the development of relevant discipleship training materials. An ongoing challenge remains the implementation of CDM programs in churches where functional literacy is low.
Many people in sub-Saharan Africa attend church regularly. With the Lord’s help, we seek to labor while it is still day in order to take advantage of this vital window of opportunity. A number of churches have asked the Navigators to facilitate effective disciple making in their churches. As these churches partner with the Navigators, they make that all important transition from nominal Christianity to obedience of Christ’s Great Commission at all levels within the church. We sense that we are indeed at the beginning of a mighty work of God that will translate to a transformed Church transforming Africa.
