The East Africa zone covers Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia and South Sudan. The ministries in these countries are at various stages of development. Below is some information on a selected country ministry:
THE NAVIGATORS IN UGANDA
The Navigators in Uganda are lead by a team consisting of Edward and Christine Mupada and Edward and Rosette Sekabanja. Edward Mupada is the Country Director while Edward Sekabanja is the Director in charge of Shepherding. Eight other laborers, either full time staff or staff couples, minister alongside the leadership team. Navigator work in Uganda started in 1970, but was unfortunately stopped due to political instability. The work restarted in 1984. Currently, the Navigators are ministering in Kampala at Makerere University and in various churches. In Mbarara there are Navigator ministries at the University and in high schools. Finally, Iganga is the base of the Rural Ministry.
The current focus of The Navigators in Uganda is raising laborers to advance the Gospel into new frontiers such as the rural areas, the market place, churches, and all levels of society through the Navigator ‘Insider’ ministries. The Navigators in Uganda are trusting God for more laborers and resources to train new staff. They are also trusting God to provide financial resources for the ministry. A Microenterprises scheme is in place to help disciples to do business and be more equipped for the tasl of advancing the gospel.
